In their short yet impressive time at the helm of Kenzo, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon have showcased an uncanny knack for defining precisely what fashion’s most discerning want to wear—no easy feat in the face of the finicky. The design duo’s covetable creations have unwittingly set in motion a soul-crushing cycle: an amazing print–emblazoned something is spotted on the back of the coolest girl ever, street-style snapped, and voilà, sold out indefinitely! For fall 2013, Lim and Leon’s print de résistance is the all-seeing eye. Wrapped in symbolism (protection, light, divinity), the visionary motif is one to be seen—and seen in.
